In a meeting this week Disney’s Chairman Bob Iger revealed not ONLY is the new Disney+ streaming service due to launch in the United States in November, but they are also looking at rebooting a number of films that they recently acquired from the Fox Catalogue.
Bob claims that the company is “focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our DTC platforms (Disney+ and Hulu).”
Like any topic, there are two camps to this announcement.
1) Those that are mortified of the idea of their childhood classic being ruined
2) Those that know the current generation wouldn’t watch something that looks so dated and would appreciate the updates
